FAP COTE BE is a non fib rated bitumen emulsion coating of brushing consistency which dries to give a firm, flexible, joint less, waterproof and protective membrane. FAP COTE BE is suitable for the treatment of concrete, asphalt, metal, roofing felt and other similar roofing surfaces whether flat, sloping or vertical, where added protection is required on roofs, and may be used in conjunction with a reinforcing fabric. Consistency is suitable for new and old concrete.
Surface to which FAP COTE BE is to be applied must be clean and free of dirt, dust, rust or any other material which may impair adhesion. Old concrete and steel must be structurally sound to application.
Apply with brush or roller. Two or more coats must be applied to ensure a durable finish. Second and subsequent coats should be applied at right angles to each other once previous coats fully dried. FAP COTE BE may be applied to damp but not wet surface, dampen brushes before and occasionally during use to avoid clogging and ease of application. During hot, dry weather, application may be assisted by dampening the surface to be treated.
Coverage rates vary according to the density, porosity and texture of the concrete to be treated. Typically a coverage rate of 3-6m≤ per liter can be expected.
