FAP SBR LATEX is styrene butadiene latex supplied as a ready to use bonding agent in liquid consistency. It is used for repair of spalled concrete-floor, columns, beams, slabs &waterproofing of toilet and bathrooms, small terraces etc. As it bonds strongly to old and new concrete and plasters. It shrinkage, prevents cracking, dust pick up & improves abrasion.
Surface Preparation : Use a wire brush to ensure all surfaces are clean, sound, and free from loose particles, old mortar, and laitance, dirt etc. Use a suitable chemical degreaser to remove any traces of oil and grease and wash down thoroughly with clean water. When laying slabs or screeds to existing concrete, surfaces must be rough. Lightly scale smooth surfaces prior to application of the fresh mix. When repairing damaged concrete, ensure that existing concrete is cut back to sound material.
Mixing : Mixing should always be carried out using a forced action pan type mixer such as a Crete angle. Does not hand mix unless a very small quantity is required. Add the cement and sand to the mixer and premix for approx. 1 minute. Initially add one-third quantity of the water required. Then add FAP SBR LATEX and mix for a further 2 minutes; add further quantity of water slowly until the desired consistency is reached.
